Description

GeneDisc is a system that allows the determination of microorganisms in food based on real time PCR analysis. Presence of harmful bacteria and other microorganisms in various foods can be determined quickly and with ease using DNA analysis. The system consists of an analyser (with software), which analyses prepared samples, as well as an ultrasonic bath and a heating unit for sample preparation. All the necessary reagents for sample preparation are also available. Some of the protocols for the determination of certain microorganisms have even been validated.

Interchangeable discs are available for the determination of microorganisms in food, where primers and probes specific to the particular microorganism are present.

Various interchangeable discs are available for the detection of microorganisms:

• Disc for the determination of lactic acid bacteria – spoilers in beer
• Disc for determining yeasts in beer and juices
• Disc for determining wild yeasts in wine
• Disc for determining pathogenic microorganisms in food (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Listeria spp., Campilobacter spp.)
• Disc for determining thermophilic acidophilic bacteria (Alicyclobacillus spp.) in fruit concentrates, beverages, and sugar syrups
